Dr. Claudio Lima is an attending cardiac surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Lima earned his medical degree from Espirito Santo Federal University in Brazil. He began his residency training in General Surgery at Buffalo General Hospital and completed his Cardiothoracic Surgery training at UPMC Shadyside. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery at The Children’s Hospital Denver. Dr. Lima is currently an Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He has previously worked at UPMC Altoona and in addition to having served as Director of Cardiovascular Surgery at UPMC Mercy. Dr. Lima’s clinical interests and skills focus on the treatment of coronary artery disease.
