Division of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery

Dr. Jose Pedro Da Silva and Dr. Luciana Da Fonseca Da Silva are internationally celebrated for pioneering the Cone Procedure for Ebstein's Anomaly.

The Division of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery is housed within the Heart Institute at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, a world renowned congenital cardiac care destination and multi-disciplinary institute comprised of pediatric cardiologists, congenital cardiac surgeons, pediatric cardiac anesthesiologists, pediatric cardiac critical care intensivists, and other healthcare professionals dedicated to the care of infants, babies, and children born with congenital heart disease. 

Led by Department Chair and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery Dr. Victor O. Morell, the program has been ranked in the top 10 Pediatric Cardiology and Heart Surgery programs in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.  Patients from around the globe travel to Pittsburgh for the specialized care provided at the Heart Institute, including Founding Surgical Director of the Da Silva Center for Ebstein's Anomaly, Dr. Jose Pedro Da Silva, pioneer of the Cone Procedure.
